I believe our city must rebuild trust with Chinatown by listening to your needs and delivering pragmatic solutions. I commit to improving safety, supporting family businesses, and investing in and celebrating Chinatown’s unique cultural identity.
As your next Ward 7 City Councillor, I will:
- Pilot a Chinatown Safety Hub to help you access city services and report crimes in Cantonese and Mandarin
- Increase the presence of community safety and outreach teams in Chinatown
- Build more affordable, low-cost senior & family housing designed to match all of Chinatown
- Expand Sien Lok Park gardens, fix the playground, and add new fitness equipment, table tennis and badminton courts
- Create vibrancy and safety by improving lighting, slowing traffic, fixing sidewalks, and regularly street cleaning
- Fund Chinatown Cultural Plan projects and continue flood prevention measures
- Find space and a vendor to re-establish a Chinatown grocery store
